In plain English: searchterms.com is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, and if you buy through them we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. Here’s exactly how that works.
What an affiliate link is
When we link to a tool with an affiliate link and you sign up or purchase, the vendor pays us a referral commission. The price you pay is identical to going there directly — the commission comes out of the vendor’s margin, not your pocket. This is a standard way independent review sites fund their work.
Which links are affiliate links
Most of the “Try free,” “Start free trial,” and pricing links to the paid tools we review are affiliate links. For transparency, these are also marked in our HTML so search engines treat them as sponsored.
Which links are not
Several tools we cover have no affiliate relationship with us at all, and we earn nothing if you click through to them. We include them anyway because leaving out a great tool would make our rankings dishonest. As of this writing that includes Ahrefs, the Google Keyword Planner, and AnswerThePublic. Ahrefs even ranks near the top — proof that our money and our rankings are kept separate.
Our promise
- Commissions never buy a higher rating or a better placement.
- We only recommend tools we believe are genuinely worth your consideration.
- We review and rank tools that pay us nothing, on the same terms as the ones that do.
