searchterms.com is about one thing: helping you get found in search — now including AI search. As Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity start answering questions directly, we cover how to get cited in those answers, and which tools help you do it.

Why we built this

Search is changing faster than it has in twenty years. AI answers increasingly sit above the blue links, and the old playbook of “rank and wait for the click” no longer tells the whole story. At the same time, the fundamentals — understanding what people search, and choosing the right research tools — matter more than ever. We built searchterms.com to make sense of both: the new world of AI search optimization and the established tools that still power it.

What we do

We publish in-depth guides on AI search optimization (GEO) — getting cited in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity — alongside independent reviews and head-to-head comparisons of the leading keyword and search-term research tools. Every review is independent: we explain what a tool is genuinely good at, where it falls short, and exactly who it suits. You can read precisely how we rank these tools.

How we stay independent

The site is reader-supported. When you buy through some of our links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you — that’s how we keep the lights on. It has never bought a better ranking. We deliberately review excellent tools that pay us nothing, like Ahrefs and the Google Keyword Planner, because a recommendation you can’t trust is worthless. Our full affiliate disclosure and editorial policy spell out the rules we hold ourselves to.
